Primoris finalist in French competition
Primoris was selected, together with 6 other companies, to take part in the French competition ‘Trophée de l’Intelligence Alimentaire’ (Trophy of Food Intelligence) in the category food safety. The competition, organized by the French association AGROPARC from Avignon (established in 1984), rewards the taking of risks and innovations by companies in the food safety sector.
The competition took place on 13th of October 2015 during Secur’Food, a professional fair on safety and traceability of food ingredients in France. As a lab serving the agrobusiness, Primoris presented its latest innovation: a multi residue pesticide screening method using high resolution liquid chromatography (LC-HRMS). Unfortunately, Primoris didn’t win the first prize, but the company received a lot of support from the jury.
The innovation is actually an adaptation of an existing technology, initially used for fundamental research, which was extended for routine pesticide residue analyses and got ISO 17025 accredited.
This new method, with code LHR_01_A, complements the existing multi residue methods LC & GC MSMS (codes GMS, LMS, GMSL_01_A, LMSL_01_A) by searching for pesticides that are prohibited in the EU, but used in the rest of the world.
The unlimited number of molecules which could be analyzed, and the precision of this technology, makes it a future promising tool to support the agro food industry in non EU markets.
